I get the message "The bios in this system is not fully ACPI compliant" and everything came to a stop...

ACPI stands for Advanced Configuration and Power Interface. This is part of a computer system's BIOS and is a power management feature for turning off the hard drive, computer or screen after some time of inactivity.

If your system predates 1995, it is possible that it is not compatible with ACPI and the boot disk's attempt to use this feature will not work.

The only thing we can suggest is to go into your system BIOS and check for ACPI settings. Check to see if they exist and if they are disabled, turn them on for the purposes of booting from this CD.

Otherwise the Boot Disk CD will not load on systems that do not support ACPI.
